Temitope Balogun Joshua was given birth to on June 12th, 1963 in Arigidi Koko, Ondo State after he had spent 15 months in his mother's womb; in accordance to him, his mother (Adesiji Kolawole Balogun) started to labour for his birth from the 9th month - she kept moving from one place to another in other to deliver her baby. One of the places she went was an hospital in Egbe in Kogi State for an operation but was later discouraged to be operated on by one of the ministers of God who used to visit to preach to the patients there. He said the hospital, based on facts from history, used to be the best in Nigeria. He nonetheless lost his father at his childhood. His father (Kolawole Balogun) used to interpret the white men's English language into Yoruba language in one of the orthodox churches then. He was educated and was a church secretary before his demise. He is today famously known as Senior Prophet T. B. Joshua, he is a Nigerian, televangelist and philanthropist. He is the leader and founder of The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN) -- a Christian establishment that runs the Emmanuel TV television station from Ikotun Egbe, Lagos State.
Joshua is known for his popularity across the continent of Africa and his online presence with 2,000,000 fans on Facebook and over 400,000 YouTube subscribers. Described as the "Oprah of evangelism" and "YouTube's most popular Pastor", Emmanuel TV is Africa's largest Christian television in Africa.
He has been awarded various accolades, notably receiving the Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) by the Nigerian government in 2008 and being voted the Yoruba man of the decade by Pan-Yoruba media outlet Irohin-Odua. He has been called one of Africa's 50 most influential people by Pan-African magazines The Africa Report and New African Magazine.
As of 2011, according to Forbes, Joshua was Nigeria’s third-richest pastor with the Net Worth of US$10-15 million; although, the claim was immediately denied in a statement by the church. TB Joshua, has been banned from several countries in Africa, received criticism from fellow citizens of his country and outsiders for one reason or the other.
The prophet yet remains an enigma wrapped up in controversies. Different people have reasons for hating him or loving him. There have been a lot of documentations to attack his personality and his ministry but none ever made him to back-down his ministry. There have been several scandalous and libelous remarks from his country and from outside labelling him with different negative names which are otherwise of who or what he calls himself.
Meanwhile, on 10th June, 2018, at his Synagogue, he emphasised on his history, he backed it with different video clips to serve as evidence for the viewers. The clips are on his "humble home", where he and his parents used to live. Another has to do with "Egbe Hospital in Kogi" where his mother went so that she might deliver him safely. Lastly was a long one which tries to present few of the mysteries that happened after his birth, his humble-munificent beginning as the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations and how he uses his leisure time. He told the congregation that he is no "superstar" but someone who started humbly as shown them on the videos. He urged them and the viewers to celebrate his birth by looking around them to be likewise and to bless people around them with whatever they have: Time, money, smile, prayer and so forth. He is married to Evelyn Joshua and are blessed with children.
