DESTINY is an abstraction which later becomes practical experience in reality in the existence of humanity to be specific. It is a natural phenomenon no life can do without. As long as there is life in a thing, be it a human being or an animal, there are courses ordained such by a Supreme Force that cannot be checked nor balanced, from the beginning of our first breath, to the last. Research has shown some linguistically prefer to call DESTINY fate or lot. It is just synonym having closest semblance in meaning to the word DESTINY. Linguistics apart, what has been said so far about destiny?

In furtherance of the above, DESTINY is, according to Oxford English Dictionary (Electronic), “that to which any person or thing is destined; a predetermined state; a condition predestined by Divine or by human will. Another definition holds that it is “the fixed order of things; invincible necessity; an irresistible power or agency conceived of as determining the future, whether in general or an individual”. There are bunches of theories, explanations from the beginning of time, since when humans begin to question philosophically using their minds and brain powers, is what it is to be or what has to be. There are lots literary texts and tell-tales told to foreground what destiny means across different race, culture, history, norm and so forth of human kinds. In sum, some hold that destiny can be changed while others hold that it cannot be changed. However, even owing to the Oxford Dictionary’s definition of DESTINY, there is to me, the singular agreement, that it is something that is TO BE (COME) –something that WILL happen in the future time, unavoidably, somehow.

Nonetheless, all I beg to defer about is about these common perceptions. Most people see destiny as what cannot be changed once revealed. Almost everyone believes it is something that has never happened. “Change”, they say “is the most constant thing” in life. Everything keeps changing in every millisecond there will ever be. That is why there is a QUESTION MARK on the word PRESENT or NOW. For as you say NOW or at this moment, there is a tick-tock on the wall clock –that establishes the fact that, in life, nothing is the same as it was just a moment past. In that time-wise effect, it is impossible to change DESTINY. It is impossible to reestablish what had long been established. Have you ever pondered on the powerful line in the Bible when God said He had chosen one of the greatest prophets even before the beginning of time? That is just a literal (biblical) allusion. There are numberless of things which are yet to happen to all of us as long as we live. Probably we are being told one or two would happen to us in the future time and we are expectant daily by default. While out of the one or two told us, one, both might or might not come to pass till we leave this world. Then we would begin to wonder –but it was said this would be and that would be for that person, but only one be or none be or actually in contrast, both be. These things to come, such as this article I am writing, it could be said, even before the first light on the darkness that shrouded this world, it had been predestined I do it on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 between a stretch of time. But before it has been established, should we call it DESTINY as by FACT, yesterday, I did not know I would be doing it to be earnest?! 

People believe facts more than they would, what is abstract. Humans naturally tend to double-mind what they cannot feel with their sensory organs such as the eyes, the nose, the tongue the skin most directly. In chain-reaction –the virtue of what you do, affecting what I do and what everyone else worldwide will do –there are countless of things that are to happen today which we do not expect and all can only be subsumed under the umbrella of DESTINY, if and only if it had happened though why? This is because, DESTINY is an establishment that nothing or no one CAN EVER BE ABLE TO CHANGE. It is like, none of can change what we ate yesterday, we could only choose to eat something different now or later. The theories which established that DESTINY can be changed got it all wrong, this could be argued though, when they failed to extend further in reasoning that even when a DESTINY changed, it changed because it had been predestined to change. Meaning, this changing, no matter how many times it happened, is still equal to the same DESTINY.  In other words, let us agree it had been said that I would not be the one to type what you are reading just now and I am the one who eventually is typing it; it can then be said that it had been PREDESTINED for me not to actually be the person to type it in the first place and to later be the person to type it. So, it is still the same DESTINY. DESTINY cannot change. It cannot be changed –“What will be will be”. And once it BE, then, just then, can it be called DESTINY. 

Therefore, once something has not happened, there are countless numbers of cause and effect running across the cosmos for it to happen. You can decide to stop reading this and delete next of cause. With emphasis on STOP READING and DELETE, till that has been done successfully, for instance, it cannot be said it is a DESTINY for you to STOP READING this and DELETE. Anything that cannot be UNDONE or CHANGED is DESTINY. Everything that happened in the past, the ones we remember, the ones we do not remember, the ones that are positive and the ones that are negative, none of us, in this human might, will ever be able to change. Accordingly, these happenings, for even though we tried, we prayed, we fasted, we did all sort of things for things to happen perhaps differently but for each to happen just the way we could remember each means DESTINY is not what is or what is to come but what’s PAST. That which we cannot change.

DESTINY through life, has put us through many things, both good and bad. Let’s take time to rejoice in the light of these good memories like babies play with toys happily while the bad ones we should try as much as possible to let go. If we must forgive others or self, we should do that instantly for there is nothing we can do to change yesterday. However, even though the Supreme Being or Force designs us DESTINY as He sees best fit for Himself and us all, we have a quota to do as well through our ability to CHOOSE. We can actually choose to use the experience of yesterday today wisely and carefully to make tomorrow be better than every other memory when tomorrow is remembered in time farther. I mean ‘we as well have control over what we do’. Just as you could choose to stop right now from reading, sharing this or continue to the end. As a believer, on DESTINY, I say, God have mercy!
