I don't know why I have to title this article the way I did. This morning, while I was busy with my chores, the movie Hercules just bombed into my head. I didn't understand the rationale behind this thought but thank God I discovered it.
I don't know if you are familiar with that movie but I got something from it. Which is stop acting like a story teller, telling people stories about other people's achievement. Thrive to be the story that would be told. Hercules's Cousin was such a talented story teller. The way he narrates Hercules's legendary acts is so amazing. I could imagine how he told those stories with so much exaggeration and fluidity. Earnestly, the character is so talented. But wait.... Can you just ask yourself where is this guy? If he knows so much about his big brother, why is it that he never asked his big brother to teach him how to fight? Probably, he did, probably not.
Stop acting like this character here. Be the story others tell henceforth. What do you want people to say about you? Let your life be a story, a puzzle that need to be solved but cannot be solved except by you. Don't be too easy to predict.
In a particular scene, this character does not have the platform to tell his tale as usual. The unexpected had happened. No one to protects him, since their friends have turned to foes. So, Hercules told him that - you see today is quite different from other battles. I'm afraid this time you going to grab a sword and fight to keep yourself alive. He was happy and scared for his life though. Yet he grabbed the sword and fought.
Consider this legendary masterpiece poesy - the untold unfold
You can see now that he is now a semi- Hercules. He fought. I am sure of this that if a sequel were to be written, this boy will talk about how he faced thousands of soldiers. By this time the subject matter had shift from Hercules to himself.
My point is, are you ready to write your story? Do You worth being talked or discussed about? All you need now is to stop running away from what you can do. Whether you win or lose, just fight. "There are no competitors just fight" says a quote.
